The Truth about The Truth Bruch (Richmond Virginia)

Forgive me, i have not been completely clear about the intentions for The Truth Brunch.

See, it does not matter WHY or WHEN you went natural. It does even matter if you hair labeled 4b, 9a, nappy, curly or kinnky.  It doesn’t even matter how you style or rock your twist, or twa.

What IS important, is that going natural CAN be an internal transition.

The internal transition is an on-going process, but it starts with three basic acknowledgments.

Acknowledgment #1
Science of Hair – How does your diet effect your hair growth? Is there a magic product that will define my curl pattern? How is important is my hair type?  Do I really need a stylist’s advice about my hair?

Acknowledgment #2
History of Hair
– Why do we “go” natural, when is the way we are born? What did it mean 5, 30, or 100 years ago to be seen with tight coils? Does wearing a relaxer in 2013 mean you are trying to assimilate?

Acknowledgment #3
Embracing Your Hair – Did I go natural for myself or others? Did I go natural because i wanted (fill in the blanks) hair, and not my own?

On April 20th, the truth brunch is focusing on Acknowledgment #1. The truth about hair through facts.  Facts from highly knowledgeable, Richmond based women who know their stuff!

Our presenters..

Angela Elizabeth, Holistic Health Practitioner, Biologist, Herbalist, & Educator of the Holistic Sciences will discuss The Science of Hair.

Kenyada, is a Virginia licensed cosmetologist, instructor and blogger focusing on the care of natural hair will discuss The Truth About Being a Naturalista.

Nadira, creator and of Adiva Naturals and Roc Da Locs educates instructors around the nation will discuss The Truth About Ingredients In Your Hair Products.

Oh yeah, and me Lady Kinnks, the facilitator.

Our goal is to provide a forum of facts to debunk myths. To get you back to self discovery through your own hair and history.

I am guilty of not staying on track with what is important about rocking my own natural crown.  I have asked myself, “If only my hair…”

That is why it was so important for us to create a forum that takes us back to what is important.  Internal growth. The truth is, we’re using hair as a subject – but it is much deeper than hair.

Thank you to for your emails, and messages – ticket sales have been extended until Wednesday 4/17/2013.

Peace, Love & Shea Butter
