The hype continues. Thanks Candi for letting me know that even ABC’s day time talk-show “The View” tackled the issue of Natural Hair thanks to Tyra’s “unveiling” of her not so natural hair. If you’d didn’t catch the episode, check out the video. They begin the hair discussion around 12:55.
Booooooo!
There was so much hype about Tyra’s REAL hair, and truth be told….it was her relaxed hair. Don’t get me wrong her hair is beautiful and long…. but I would have truly been happier with a headful of kinnks!! I will congratulate Tyra on taking a step towards freedom. Freedom of her crutch, the weave :o)
Check it out for yourself…

Tyra Banks named September 8, 2009 National Real Hair Day! Today, the season premier she has announced she will wear her real hair. I do not think she will reveal Kinnks, but I am going to watch any way just in case!! I think she’ll probably reveal a relaxed wrap, I hope I am wrong!! After revealing her REAL hair, what difference does it make if she goes back to her weave on Wednesday? Maybe a lack of dependence on false hair? How do you think her real hair will influence those just as dependent as she is on her weave? Hmmmm
Back in May the Tyra Show “tackled” the “Good Hair” debate within our community.

Can you blame them? You start having a new found confidence AND save money. Loren shares with us, what she calls the ACCIDENT…

I spend my weekend with my beautiful girlfriend Stacy in Hampton Roads. We spend our Saturday at the

Celebrating more than 25 years of African-American culture and fine arts, the Southeastern Virginia Arts Association (SEVAA) is proud to continue its tradition of hosting the state’s premier African-American festival. The Southeastern Virginia Arts Association (SEVAA) inaugurated AFR’AM FEST on Memorial Day weekend, 1983. Today AFR’AM FEST has grown to become one of the largest African-American cultural celebrations on the East coast.
