Hairitage Cruise 2010

Turn on the news, and you can’t help but hear about the recent Carnival Cruise debacle.  My first cruise this past October was the total opposite.  My three-day voyage made me hungry for more crusin!  All you can eat food, island beaches, activities AND thanks to My Hairitage NATURAL HAIR!!  What more could a girl ask for?

Ansylla was kind enough to invite yours truly Cruise. I had the opportunity to meet several natural hair lovers just like myself.  Whew…good times!

Pictured Above Kumi (I Love Being Black), Ansylla (My Hairitage), LeAnn (Naptural Roots Publishing)  & Me (Lady Kinnks)

Workshops I attended several workshops like social networking, attaining your life’s potential and professional hair.  I had a few pina coladas in between.  What? I was crusin’!

Appreciation Soiree: Black & White Attire Do you see me? We are all anxiously awaiting the Fashion show hosted by Madam Walker’s Braidery & School.

In my Oprah voice, to all the cruise attendees I exclaimed,
“You get a bag”
  “You get a bag”
“You get a bag”
See their smiling faces? (You can win one too, contest at the end of this post…)  The bags are filled with goodies like products from Taliah Waajid, & Bamboo Hair Studio

Lowcountry Expo Review

I previously mentioned that I had the honor of attending Low Country’s Beauty Expo.  Since 2006 the event host, Darryl and his associates of Lowcountry Exposure, have hosted the Fashion and Beauty Seminar in Charleston SC.  The Seminar focused on the Fashion and Beauty Industry through classroom lectures, CEU classes, fashion show and product demonstration.  In October 2009, they added a Natural Beauty Seminar, with focus on the Natural Hair and its growing choice by Women for its styles.

My voyage to the show in Charleston started via Amtrak.  I was pleasantly surprised by the scenic views Amtrak provided from Rocky Mount, Virginia to Charleston, South Carolina!  This New Englander, is slowly becoming a southern girl!  I arrived Friday night and hung out with Ansylla of MyHairtage and designer, She She of She She NY! (pictured)

Darryl and Ms. She She were SOO generous, and welcoming!!

Low Country Expo

I am very excited about the month of October!!  Why you ask…Well I will be attending TWO specifically natural hair events!  My face hurts from all my smiling.  During eBriading.net’s December 2009 Sanata Magazine Launch, I had the opportunity to meet several great HAIR-Lovers like Darrryl Goodman.

Right to Left: Ansylla (My Hairitage), Daryl Goodman (Low Country Expo), “Sy” Sahande (eBraiding.net),  Chatto (Chatto Skin Care), and mee Lady Kinnks.

Since 2006 Darryl and his associates have hosted Low Country Exposure, Fashion and Beauty Seminar in Charleston SC. The Seminar focused on the Fashion and Beauty Industry through classroom lectures, CEU classes, Fashion Show and product demonstration.  In 2009, they added a Natural Beauty Seminar in October, with the focus on the Natural Hair and its growing choice by Women for its styles!!

You saw the two words, Natural Hair so I will be in attendance this October…

July Richmond Natural Hair Meetup

Our second meetup on Tue July 20th was a success!
The success is definitely attributed to…
...Melisa (created giveaways, took pictures and notes) Thank you!
...Venue Touch Ov Soul Thank you!
... and lastly, to all the beautiful naturals that said they were coming, and came! Thank you!

After an ice breaker to get acquainted we opening up one big group discussion.  I quickly learned people didn’t attend for information, but more for the fellowship.
