Today at work (my 9-5), I was greeted by a prospective client. He stood about 5’6 dressed in a formal black suite with a white shirt. I later learned he was a young preacher with a small church of fifty or so. I was greeted by his warm eyes framed by glasses. Then after our salutations, he yelled, what seemed to be at the top of his lungs, I LOVE YOUR LOCS. It was loud enough for my entire office to hear.
Once we fee ourselves from the need to FIX our hair, “pulling through tangles” will no longer become a task.~Lady Kinnks

When Beyonce performs she always speaks of her on stage character Sasha. The same must be true for Lavell Crump aka David Banner. While on interviews, or giving back to the community his insight is educated and interesting, yet his rap songs are so…. typical. He mentions his fight to include more dark skin girls in his videos, but explains he can’t have it all. They can’t be dark skin AND have natural hair. That will be too much for the mainstream to handle. All facets of beauty should be represented in the media, but do we really want Queens of the Nubian bent over shakin their ass in rap videos?
