Hairy Sushi

I wore twist-outs Thursday into the weekend.  By the time Saturday came around, my hair started to poof more and more.  Saturday night we went for Sushi.  While looking at the menu, the lady from the table next to me smiled and walked over.  I just wanted to tell you, she explains.  My boyfriend is a photographer.  He was just telling me that if he had his camera and his business card he would’ve asked to take a picture of your gorgeous hair.

I started to grin ear to ear. I though to myself, no one would pay me any attention with a press and curl.  But my big puffy hair commanded attention as I walked into the restaurant.  I thanked the lady.  I told her she made my night!

It is kind of a coincidence, I was speaking to a new natural the other day, and she said something so simple but profound.  When she first went natural she felt like people were giving her dirty looks because of her new nappy hair.  After she really starting to love it, the compliments just flew in.

I agree.  When you go out in public, many people mirror your spirit and attitude towards yourself.

Saturday night, although my hair was puffy and all over the place, I was content and comfortable in my skin.  I love my hair even more when it is untamable because it is so unique to me.

The lady approached me not because I have good, fabulous hair, but because they mirrored my positive energy.  Before the couple left (the boyfriend didn’t talk much) they recommended the Vampire roll.  We blindly ordered it.  When it came out, it was a big salmon roll with raw steak on top.  AND it was $14.00. YUCK!

Wishing you positive energy.

I have recently gone natural and love it but it was a struggle to get through it. i have found some products that really help maintain your natural curl as well as nourish it. There is a line called UNcle Funkys Daughter it features all natural products that help to define and control your curl all while nourishing your natural locks.
