Next entry: India Arie and John Legend

Yesterday I went and saw India Arie and John Legend in Charlottesville, Virginia. I had a great time!! India Arie performed a song called Roller Coaster. No you are not mistaken, it’s not on any of her CDs.
While bobbing and dancing I didn’t do a great job video recording, but at least you can hear the words to this song. Before the video began, India introduced the song something along the lines…. Since we’re in Virginia she explained, what is going on with our man Michael Vick?!
What makes the Michael Vick situation confusing is that Donte’ Stallworth, another NFL player served a 24 DAY sentence for DUI manslaughter. Yes, he killed a person while driving drunk.
Michael Vick was wrong in his conduct of money laundering and cruelty to animals! Yet a human life was not lost. Should that count for something?
Someone please explain to me why Michael Vick served 18 months in jail, another 30 days on house arrest lost about $70-million and maybe a NFL career?
AND Michael Vick is headline news, the cover of USA Today:
“WHAT NOW? Vick is about to be free, but his future is unclear”
What do you think?
More on India and John Legend’s performance in my next post…

I agree with Fareeda on the Michael Vick/Donte Stallworth situation - the scales of justice are totally unbalanced - we have a broken justice system.
On your video - lol and the dancing while recording - at least you weren’t heard sining loudly on yours like when I called myself recording :o)

I think the crime of killing someone behind the wheel, while being intoxicated is a much more serious crime. Stallworth’s punichment did not fit his actions. Micheal Vick on the other hand was also convicted of a serious crime. Even though a dog is not a person, they still have the right to be treated kindly, and not abused or turned into to fighting animals. Animals hurt just as any other living creature. It was in his fate that he serve jail time and loose a part of his wealth. We can’t feel sorry for wrong behavior, and a very poor lack of decision making. I hope they both are smarter in the future, that must have been a hard lesson to learn.
